  • Does anyone else know about this new HW Mercedes?

I'm old school and was over the moon when I discovered that HW is going to create a Mercedes-Benz 6.3 in a Premium Edition next year. I prefer Mercedes cars pre-1986, and this one is one I've wanted, but didn't expect. I stole the image from Lamley, but I can't seem to determine a series it will be part of, or a release date. I'm guessing release date is a more toward the end of the year if in this 3-D printed prototype. Here's the screengrab (please Porsche fans, look behind the 959):

Nice, but this is new to me. I'm more of a mid-80s to mid-90s Mercedes guy, other than the old Pagodas.
The image file limits have been reset. Upper limits now are 100,000 when we have some images that exceed 5,000,000. I've set the pixels for no more than 1000 across the longest side, so if you resize to that all should be well. (The limits are larger than what I typically use, and my images turn out just fine, so I know it shouldn't be a problem)

    Thank you for your understanding.

Mercs are cool, but I can't get my eyes off of the Lancia 037 and the improved Porsche 959.

Thanks for the alert and photo. That body style would be nice to see.

I SO much agree with you, Jeff. I have been keeping myself satisfied with the old Majorette model, which is certainly nice, but pricey. I'm wondering if this has some sort of mechanism to lift then lower the suspension. I say that because of the Redline Club Chevy pickup that can change its ride height. I personally prefer bone stock, but, heck, this casting looks like a winner.

As long as it's not a lowrider like it appears there, it is something that would interest me if I'd seen it.

I would be highly surprised (and amused) if it amounted to anything more than a trunk badge tampo - "300SEL" on the left side and "6.3" on the right. It may not even have that. It might just say "6.3" on the base. Maybe a bit of extra bright-work to differentiate it from the similar looking, but less exotic W108 series models. Who Knows? Something to look forward to.

Agreed - it does look like the air bags leaked (what else is new). 20 years ago, the rule of thumb was that it cost $1,000 a wheel to R&R the air bags. Obviously, prices have gone up since then (yikes!)

On the plus side, the proportions seem to be spot on! Maybe we will have a wiener on our hands! Order me a gross!

I am so used to seeing the busted air suspension that I was confused into thinking this lowered HW model was accurate. I hope it isn't somehow spoiled in the HW customization process. Myself, I prefer bone-stock.
