TPF made a series of 12 Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) models in 2008, I presume promotional items for Holden directly. They are plastic, but capture the body lines well though the lack of interiors and window glazing does leave what otherwise would be exceptional models a bit short. About half of the models in this series were racers, particularly Bathurst race winners. Though the Walkinshaw is my personal favorite, I think this Maloo is a real eye teaser. Considering the last V8 thunder from General Motors were wrapped in Holden body cladding (and sold here Stateside only as Police Interceptors), it seems fitting that Holden deserves a little more attention than they usually get. And there is the tie in to the previous model...which was more serendipity than planned.

While this series may not be the best, the models covered are seldom seen outside of Oz, so I was very pleased to be able to acquire these when they came around several years ago at the old site (thank you, Dean-O-Mite!).

The TPF Group still exists and can be found online, but diecast isn't their primary "thing," they are a promotional company, so these were just a contract promo item...one and done. (Hard to say that, most of the models have a civilian and race version, but there was only ever the one release and then no more)
The image file limits have been reset. Upper limits now are 100,000 when we have some images that exceed 5,000,000. I've set the pixels for no more than 1000 across the longest side, so if you resize to that all should be well. (The limits are larger than what I typically use, and my images turn out just fine, so I know it shouldn't be a problem)

    Thank you for your understanding.

Fantastic - always neat to see Holden's in small scale - and Dean always seemed to have a host of connections for finding unique models from all over the place! Sure do miss him being a part of the garage community but know he has many, many things going on in his life.

Strictly at a promo it looks good. Biante and perhaps a few others have done the stock Holden modern utes quite well.

Nice one. I have a few of the Bathurst race cars. I’ve just noticed the tyres have perished on mine.

Dean is another whose presence is sorely missed. Maybe one day he will be back. He was such a wealth of diecast information, I would hate to see that lost. And he is an all around great guy too!

Agreed, but those are all Aussie makers. Few Holdens outside of the Aussie makers...HW has one or two, Mbx has two or three, nothing from the other big players right now, I'm not aware of any Tomica or Kyosho. Pickin's are slim outside of the Land Down Under.

Sorry to hear about the tyres, bit of an occupational hazard...

Good, I broke the spoiler off one of mine. I don't see any listed, so a replacement is out of the question at this point.

I'm Not 100% sure, but I think I got the set & there was an additional/extra car that came with it? (different model from the others).

I only recall seeing the Bathurst racecar models. I got mine from a gas station for 2 bucks each, which thinking about it now, was quite a bit of money back then. We also love to race the utes downunder, as you can see by the red one. they also tried racing the pickup trucks but they don’t handle that well.
