  • 1959 Cadillac Superior Coach Hearse

    Starting point:

As an acolyte of the Goth subculture, I've always been a fan of funeral related vehicles. And I've had this Hot Wheels black-box casting sitting around for a while. I obliterated the wood trim with carpenter's, hobby and woodworking files, while keeping the panel lines, sanded it to shape, hand-painted this aged paint job, made the curved glass look busted and cracked, detailed the interior, and replaced the original Northstar V8 to the casting with a parts-box engine that has been heavily weathered/aged.

The end result was a wonderfully creepy custom, that I will eventually add lace curtains to.

I'll need to shoot some new pictures, but I converted a 1:25 scale Ghostbusters Ambulance to a stock(ish) hearse about a decade back. I lowered it and it now wears wide whitewlls on Cragar S/S wheels. I think it came out pretty well. I used photos of the '59 Caddy hearse from the movie "Harold and Maude" as my reference.
