A play on the words "Toy Car". The brand Yot was a cheap toy brand from Taiwan. They were around during the 70's and 'maybe' the early 80's. They didn't last long in the market and didn't make too many different castings. Competition is tough when the Chinese churn out as much as they do for cheap. Any who, I only recently discovered this brand just this summer so I'm only still learning about the brand and trying to find any for sale has been just as difficult. The brand has mostly been long forgotten, but with the somewhat recent showcase on the Lamley Channel as some may or may not have seen. I jumped aboard to collect as many of this brand as possible. It won't be easy and it won't be cheap. Especially living in Canada with our absolutely dreadful dollar. Though it is cheaper to buy from Australia.
If any of you know something I don't or want to correct any part of what I know (or think I know), please don't hesitate to chime in. Also, if any of you come across any, and you're not keen on collecting the brand, I'd be more than happy to buy them from you.
Here are the few I have so far; (more will be posted here: https://www.diecastgarage.org/node/20471 when I acquire them)
Datsun 510
Volkswage Beetle
Toyota HiAce
(I urge you to see my write up about this particular truck casting, if you will, go here on Flickr,
