  • Fold 'N Go Playsets

Showed these before at Swfty's, but it's been a few years, so why not post them here.

I believe that is what Matchbox had called these sets, Fold 'N Go, either way they are a couple pop up playsets MBX had done in about 2006.

Afriend found these at yardsales, amazingly still with their exclusive models, but being loose then I don't know the names of the sets, I thought the snake one was called Snake Pit, but I saw it listed on ebay as something like Amazon Jungle Adventure, so if you know please let us know, the fire set I guess we can call Fire Station or Fire Rescue, who knows.

Snake w/ Emergency Rescue 4x4 or Emergency Response 4x4

Fire w/ Highway Pumper, or Highway Rescue Fire Truck

Amazing that these still had the exclusive models still in the sets. I do remember these but never picked any of them up. Not sure why I didn't as that little fire engine would be a nice one in the collection.

I never bought any of these myself, they were a little expensive for the one exclusive car I thought, and they mostly included generic castings anyway, but these and a few other smaller ones I have were from some friends who go yard sale'ing a lot, and they give me stuff like this to me for gifts on different occasions over the years.

Great fun for kids I bet though, and they really are cleverly designed in how they fold and unfold, so I do appreciate that design element a lot about them.

Okay I am going to go really nerdy here with the information.

These were called Pop-Up Playsets, and were around during the mid-late 2000s. The 2 you have pictures are the Highway Rescue Fire Truck from the 2006 Fire Station Pop-Up set, and the Emergency Rescue 4x4 from the 2006 Snake Jungle Pop-Up set. That one came with either brown sawblade wheels (like you have and also the one I have), or there is also a chrome lace wheel version which I am still trying to hunt down. Being as these were sold in USA and not in the UK at the time I was not able to find the variant on my random trips to USA.

MB sure has a way of making very cool play sets.

Not nerdy David, just knowledgeable about our favorite toy. Thanks for the details about these sets, of course with me I forget all this good info by the time the thread moves a few pages down, but as long as I can remember they are not Fold n go, but rather Pop-up Playsets, I saw Fold n Go was a name they once used for one or more other sets, so I got confused about it. Good luck finding the wheel vary.
