When Im signed in, notice in the lower left corner, below the Forums tab is another tab called "New Topics".
When Im signed out, the same tab changes to "Todays Posts".
Im not sure why this happens and the only reason I bring it up is because the
Todays Posts button is a much more useful function for seeing whats new.
Am I missing something? Any help would be appreciated.

It isn't anything specific I've done or requested, my guess is forum default. New topics would be like a new thread, today's posts would be the most recent posts. I can't see enough of your screen, but I have the three most recent topics displayed on the far right of my screen, might be admin default. Could be on a phone it may display differently, I don't know. I don't think you are missing anything in particular, no games being played. My screen looks the same as yours until I sign in.
I've noticed, at least for me, a little blue button that appears by all the threads with new posts, the button is always there but it changes to a blue when there is new activity.Last edited by jt3; 09-23-2019, 08:26 AM.Comment

So, I'm happy to see there is a "Like" button on posts (as I often have nothing to add to a post, but would at least like to give it a thumbs up if I like it). However, unlike our former home I can't figure out how to see who actually liked my posts. Is this a setting the mods can switch on and off? Thanks.Comment

My issue is somewhat a personal thing, rather than a general issue, but I notice that I'm not in the member list, I suspect that is because of my troubles registering, and I might not be fully registered, which may be why I see no way to change my avatar, so I don't know if you might delete my Douglas account and I just try reregistering Douglas again, since I think my email and all is working right now, or if it is better to just leave well enough alone. You could probably delete the Doug account anyways, since that was just my second attempt to get registered, and I can't post from it anyway, and it would leave the user name open for someone else to use, or me, should the Douglas account ever fail me again.Lol.DougComment

Need some guidance. I am not a tech person - have tried to post pictures from IMGUR but get your file of 3.71 MB exceeds the limit of 879.9 KB. I have no clue how to make the pictures smaller so would appreciate any guidance so that I can share pictures like I did at Swifty's.Comment

I really don't know what to say Pastor John. I use the Paint program that came with my Windows computer, been doing the same for years. I resize my images, I got used to using 900 pixels on the long side of the image, that seems to meet the size limit and still shows the car at about 3 times actual size, so that has been my process for years. The images I formatted for Swifty's work just fine here. I know there is an automatic resize function and I do have it activated, but images that are just too big it will reject, and that isn't anything I have control over.Comment

Below is the editor for images already in your Imgur album(s), the size of the image is shown in upper right of image, where you can change the first number and it will automatically change the second when you apply it

OK... after hunting and pecking I may have found a partial solution. If you want "New Posts" after you log in, go to "New Topics", then click on the "Sort By" menu and select "Date - last update" and it should give you the equivalent of "New Posts" in your search results.
Also not after you have look at a post in the search results, and click back to the search results the link to the post you just looked at may disappear (instead of just marking itself as "read", which would be better).

Ivantt, ignore that, it is for admin only.
The new topic works the same as Unread Posts. The term topic is a bit mileading. It is actually giving you unread posts since your last login.
This is from VB's 'help' manual
TODAY'S POSTS is usually shown only to guests (unregistered users browsing the site), and provides a simple but comprehensive list of all content that has been updated in the past 24 hours. Topics with unread content are highlighted in bold text; topics with no new content since the last visit are displayed in normal (non-bold) text.
NEW TOPICS is usually shown only to logged in users, and works in much the same way as Today's posts, except that it only shows topics with unread content since the member's last visit to the site. Topics will generally only show up in bold text, as once the item has been read it is no longer "New" and therefore does not display in "New Topics" at all.
In both cases; logged in members will see a small icon immediately to the left of the title in the case of unread topics; clicking this icon will take the member to the first unread item in the topic. Clicking the title itself will open the topic at the first item.👍 1Comment

First off, I see my name now in the members list, so thanks to whoever fixed that, I feel like I'm legitimate now.
And now for a couple questions, I noticed there is no birthday notices at the bottom of the main page like over at Swifty's, is that something they can do, or maybe people don't really like to bother with that kind of stuff anyways, I don't know.
The next question is that I noticed some members with a signature at the bottom of their posts like Swifty's had a setting in the profile I think where you could add your name so it shows up automatically in each post, but I don't know how those here did it, I can't find the option.
That was it for now, Thanks
Edit; Ok just thought of something else, that when you click on a thread it always seems to go to the first page instead of last, which seems like last would be better(to me anyways), but I guess if somebody is viewing a long thread for the first time, first page would be better.....No big deal if these aren't really issues for anyone, or can't be adjusted anyway, just thought I'd bring them up for when you all are tweaking things as we go along.DougComment
