  • Hot Wheels 1993 Chevrolet G Series Ambulance

Added these to the database and thought it would be nice to share them here as well. While the casting has seen other, non ambulance use, I am only showing the ambulance versions with this thread.

Very nice collection of Hotwheels ambulancesπŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€— The only one I never found was the Yellow version American Ambulance. I think that one is a little difficult to find in mint condition.

Nice collection of a nice HWs ambulance John, Think I have all of these except that yellow Sto and Go issue. The Final Run I remember, and thought I got it, but remember too that I thought they could have done a lot nicer paint scheme for its final version.

The final run version is not one of my favorites - really a bit of a disappointment when compared to the other designs they used over the years. But since it was still marked as an ambulance I did add it.

Quite a nice model, I only have the violett one (orginally Fossil Fuels).
Maisto did a obvious copy of this one, in the beginning also with opening doors later with shut doors. Also sold a Edocar.

The old Hot Wheels Chevy G-Series ambulance is actually a little older than 1993, Pastor John. It's actually a 1988 or 1989 Chevy G-Series as that's really the years around when this casting actually first debuted from Hot Wheels. If you look on the base of one, you'll see either the year 1988 or 1989 imprinted on it. I believe 1988 is the exact year seen on the casting's base AFAIK. Just a little factual FYI about this classic Hot Wheels ambulance casting I felt the need to add! πŸ˜€πŸš‘

I really appreciate this Matt - i had used the date for this from another source and didn't think about checking to see when this ambulance came into service into the Hot Wheels lineup.

Yup! This casting did in fact debut all the way back in 1988. I just searched for this casting online only a couple of minutes ago to confirm this. It debuted in the old venerable "Workhorses" line that Hot Wheels had back in the day, debuting in white with the "American Ambulance Service" livery back in 1988 exactly! πŸ˜„πŸš‘

You're very welcome, Pastor John! I had even more proof besides doing an internet search by also happening to have one of mine handy to look at its base for the casting's debut year, which was great! πŸ˜πŸ‘

Thanks for doing the research Matt - see I can't edit my post. I just looked at one of my secondary data bases which is for my ambulances and hearses notes it as a 1986 model. Thinking the first rig i worked on as an EMT when I moved to ND was probably an '80 Chevy G-Series - know the squad i was with was in the process of replacing it with a Ford when I joined so didn't see much action with it. Made up for it in the Ford.
