  • offering hope to collectors!

I was amazed to find the red Kingswood today at WM during the day. Usually the scalpers or the people waiting at the doors at opening time (any non-24 hour locations) skim everything desirable and leave the carcasses. So pleased because I have seen evidence of it with some of the remaining models from that release but not the Holy Grail. Found the Chevy Stepside pickups at separate times as well. Maybe Auto World has finally hit upon an acceptable "limited edition" number with 5500 units, and isn't so limited that collector demand is not met. Color me happy!

LOL!!! It was a miracle, honestly. It was such a pegwarmer for probably five hours I could feel just a bit of heat on the peg.

Funny thing - This is the third Ultra Red Kingswood Estate I've read about guys finding recently this evening! And the model is from a 3-year old release! WalMart must be cleaning out their warehouses prior to getting new stock in for Christmas. Maybe I'll find one myself. I mean, I already have one, but I want to find one of them with the exposed headlights, like the dark green one we had when I was a kid.

(Funny, that's the 3rd time I've mentioned this car on here this evening - I hope I'm not boring anyone by repeating myself, I just loved that old wagon growing up. )

Oh no, CorvairJim, I wasn't that fortunate. I just found a Garnet Red Kingswood on two occasions. But that made me happy because it was a model I wanted and didn't expect to find except on eBay....and no, you're not boring me at least. My Aunt and Uncle had a blue '70 Kingswood, and I really liked the looks too.
