Good grief as Charlie Brown would say - I haven't even seen the ones with the CHP pickups yet.

Those are nice. For me, it's too bad they include 8 cars I almost invariably already have added as singles...and other than giving them away (not even at Halloween because there are so few trick or treaters in my neighborhood any more--it would have to be at a second-hand store, which are few and far between around here any more, either), they'd just be wasted, maybe even simply tossed in the trash.

Now, the themed 5-packs...those are a horse of a different color. I've picked up three of the newest ones in the past week, and TTBOMK there's not a 'repeat' of a mainline model in any of them. Pics to be posted in their own topic later. (Okay, there MAY be one or two in each 5-pack that has been released in a similar color not under the theme--like the two Top Gun-Maverick sets. But I can't find evidence of that in my collection...).

Just an FYI, 5-packs currently contain all-exclusive models, none of which are pulled from the basic range. They experimented with that in the mid '10s, but dropped that idea a few years back.

9-packs are different though. They contain 1 exclusive, top right, as denoted on the pack. All the others are then pulled from either the basic range, or from themed 5-packs.

The BMW i3 9-packs pair are the 4th 9-pack pair of the year. Pair #1 was the Chevy Brockwood. Pair #2 was the Porsche 911GT3. Pair #3 was the Datsun 510 Rally. This is pair #4. The Ram 1500 Police pair will be pack number 5, and should be out soon. Keith had an early sample due to it containing his Boone County Mustang which he showed here. There will be 6, and if all sticks to plan, the last pair will be the Mercedes 6x6 AMG.

And yeah I am just as stumped with TTBOMK too?

And typical - the ones with the Chevy wagons never showed up in these parts.

I'm sorry I used the 'shorthand' for TTBOMK! But, I knew this group of fanatics would figure it out eventually.

I've seen both varies of the Chevy Wagon and would like both of them, but I can't see getting triplicates of models I already own just to get the exclusives. And, since those others are mainline releases, I can't see them sellable online because they are included in mainline cases. So it would be 16 diecast cars I have no use for and don't think I could 'get my money' back. They'd literally just go in the trash, or maybe in a baggie dropped in a clothing-donation bin behind the last remaining 'secondhand' store in my area.

My attitude is odd, even to me, since I'll readily 'drop' $20 on some models if they're 'hard to find', but I don't want to throw the money at something that will just go to waste.

Oh, and thank you David Tilley, for reminding me the 5-packs are all exclusive. I think maybe we heard that last year or the year before in ABQ? Or from you earlier in the past winter...

These things are so frustrating. What other products do you have to pay more per unit when you buy in bulk? I'm surprised that enough people buy these to justify their continued existence. As glad as I was to see the GT3 back, I hated having to spend money on this product to get them. There are probably less than 5 castings I would do that for again (the Continental GT and Exige come to mind). At least use some of that cost savings to give us 9 exclusive models.

Yep, ridiculous. All stores, from Mom N' Pop to big chains still charge $10-11 even with one less car. All other markets still have 10 packs, so why do they drop a model? And it's so wasteful, as half or more of the models included are far from desirable, and are often pegwarmers.
