  • 100% '32 Duesenberg SJ

Found this one loose for $2 at an estate sale, couldn't resist at the price even if it was a play-damaged wheel donor, and I still hope to find the Bugatti that goes with it, maybe in the silver "oil can" single release (though I like the purple version too). Really a nicely done casting, hopefully Hot Wheels will consider reissuing some of these 100%/oil can/black-box pieces someday.

From the Hot Wheels Fandom Wiki:

The real-life car, the 'Gurney Nutting Speedster' (Chassis 2614 J-585), was designed especially for the Maharajah of Indore, Yashwant Rao Holkar II. It was fitted with a supercharged straight-eight engine reputed to be capable of hitting 140mp/h. The 'speedster' body was crafted in London by coachbuilders 'Gurney Nutting Co.' and features long swooping lines, boat-tail rear, rumble seat and blue & red colored lights to show whether the Maharajah or Mahranee was driving among many other features. Due to the threat of war, the Maharajah took delivery of the car at his Santa Ana mansion in California where he enjoyed the car for some time before having it sent back to India after tensions had settled. The car remained in India until its rediscovery in 1959 where it was sold and sent back to the USA and still resides today in the hands of the William Lyon private collection.
I think jt3 will enjoy this one, I know how Wes likes his prewar luxury cars...

Awww shucks, am I that obvious???
The image file limits have been reset. Upper limits now are 100,000 when we have some images that exceed 5,000,000. I've set the pixels for no more than 1000 across the longest side, so if you resize to that all should be well. (The limits are larger than what I typically use, and my images turn out just fine, so I know it shouldn't be a problem)

    Thank you for your understanding.

No, but I've known you for like 6-7 years between the old board and this new one & talked real cars & diecast both with you to a great extent. BTW I've got plans to include those vintage Lesney Esso pumps you RAOK'd me last year into a diorama of some kind

Many of us who know Wes know "his little car weaknesses"! I remember finding this awesome Duesenberg and Bugatti set at a Fred Meyer's in Yakima, WA many years ago - surprised with the fine and certainly glad I did not leave it in the store.
