  • My new Siku arrivals

First, what I hope will come out in a 'Fire' version in the future (since the previous "Water Cannons" Siku issued in Fire livery had no "cannon" anywhere to be found):

    And the fire 'engine':

With its new Fire buddy, the "elevating rescue platform":

The boom has lettering embossed on the upper arm, but didn't come out well in the photo I tried (yellow on yellow looks, well, yellow).

That lettering: "Florian 15 B32/TM32". I presume Florian to be the aerial manufacturer's name; not sure what "15" refers to, but I suppose the rest is about the length/height of the platform when extended? Interesting that "Florian" is the 'brand name'. St Florian is the 'patron saint' of firefighters. Coincidence?

Looks like that water cannon is a special casting just for use as a police vehicle (though it could pass as an ARFF rig).

Florian is a common call sign for fire apparatus in Germany, from what I've been looking at various German fire department web pages as of late. Mostly at Unimogs. The way that boom folds up is a marvel.

Like the two new ones with the "non-branded" Scania cabs, real nice. Before Siku used al lot of Mercedes-Benz models like this Actros….

Those are nice models from Siku. The moving parts are very impressive!

Oh, yeah, I have that one...I forgot (even after checking out my toy room display shelf of earlier Sikus, where it's right up front) But I was thinking of the other 'Scania-esque chassis models I got in the past winter...one called it a "water cannon" on the card but there was no "deck gun" aboard...in my country-specific sets I posted sometime this winter. That one outlier must have stuck in my craw for some reason.

I don’t think I’ve seen a toy of a Bronto Sky Lift type aerial before.

And here's an Australian 1:1 (more or less):
