  • Morisett Public School and down the road

Across the road from the 7Eleven and Auto Center is Morisett Public School
I wanted to build an industrial section here but as always things don,t go the way 1st planned

The school is small but has an area out the back where they grow vegetables and flowers etc
Mick has been the school maintenance / handyman etc for years , he can be seen having a break while the kids are arriving to school

Thanks, Decent size, but never big enough

Next door to the school is a home / 24hr auto etc mechanic (Cheaper than the Exxon around the corner )

They also sell cars , trucks , bikes etc

Always amazed at what you create, neat school and mechanic shop next door, I thought maybe it could be a town in Florida, looked like FHP there writing up the ticket.

            Thanks Doug
            Glad you like the pics
I don,t have many police cars , mostly black and whites , this one just happened to be nearby
I never have a specific place in mind when making these scenes ,
I just go with what I got and see how it looks
            You are correct it is a Florida State Trooper;

More great photos. I especially like the black and white ones.

Think I recognize some of those houses from my neighbourhood!

Bet I know where some of the boys from school sneak off to - backyard mechanic and cars for sale - what a temptation to skip a class or two. School is awesome - like those greenhouses in the back. Our local school has some greenhouses as part of their ag program.

What ever is your secret in taking them pictures? They look good... they do have something really special.
And that probably makes them look so good.

What type of Camera are you using?

I got the impression it is one that does not have any wide-angle stuff like all modern smart phones have? Or are you zooming in a lot?
(This apart from any post-recording image processing, which I assume you are using ... )

Good Lighting and a reasonable camera ( Which I have not really had )
The majority of my pics I am not that happy with And could be much better with Good lighting and a good camera

                        Honestly ,
No secret just a passion to collect , display and photo my cars etc in realistic settings etc with lots of trial and error and ideas from other collectors
This overcomes all the problems I have had with lighting /space / camera charging, etc etc etc
Funny thing you just mentioned about my camera etc
It was an old cannon digital ixus small portable camera ,
Last night I finally gave up on it ( Battery would not recharge , Been dropped a few times, taken about 1,000,000 pics with it etc etc )
I am taking pics now using my phone,
1st I crop and resize in paint shop then I edit the pics online through lunapic ( Its free ) , I have to do this due to all the issues trying to get decent pics

The fun I have making Dio,s , The love I have for this hobby & the postitive comments from you guys etc make it all worth while though

                        Thanks Everyone !

                        PJ
There is also the 7Eleven around the corner for the kids to fill up with junk food etc
( I remember skipping classes to play the pinball and the new at the time Space invaders/Galaga etc sit down machines at the Gas station not far from school )

                        Back at the mechanics

Al the owner had sent out his son Billy to get a windscreen and surround for one of the 57 Vettes he had from Old Joe at the wrecking yard up the road
A customer was coming over the next day to check them out to buy one or perhaps both
Joe told told Al that billy should bring the trailer , He may have something of interest for them that he just got in

About 2 hours later Billy returns with this old Delahaye Fire Engine , Not sure what where going to do with it though

                        ( Readers Digest 1957 Corvette )
( Franklin Mint Pewter Delahaye Fire RescueTruck ) I got this off my brother missing a wheel and thought it would look good as a barn / field find.
So I gave it the treatmeant
Not sure what scale it is ? from pics online The real truck did not look too big .
Also had a bit of extra paint left over so I decided to weather the 2 vettes and 2 Matchbox Fork lifts that I had laying around

i wonder what they want for that old fire engine? that would be a nice piece for porky's famous firehouse BBQ... probably too much to ship it over.
