Came across a Welly version of an Israeli ambulance that is similar to the Majorette version...

    Welly -

    Majorete -

Here's another oldie that I stumbled across years ago, not sure of the origins though. Anybody here have any intel on this one, or know how to read Hebrew? -

Very nice Israeli ambulances Sammy๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘ These are ones I do not have, however I have seen them for sale on eBay from time to time. Always on the hunt๐Ÿ˜

Nice collection, it's interesting each brand has different cabs, but the box design appears to be copies of Majorette, is the center one by Majorette..

Sorry Sammy - it has been over 35 years since I studied Hebrew and sadly I didn't keep up with it (learned enough to get through seminary along with Biblical Greek) I have the first two that you show but not the third one.

Neat models, I knew about the Majorette, but had never seen the Wells version before.

              Nice Jim,

there is another one that Jeff Webster sent me. I believe it was yellow. I'll try and find it and snap a pic or two if I can find it.

Yes, some where I have a Chevy Type II that is yellowish. And Jeff or someone on the old MCCH is who got several of them to sell.

I vaguely remember... must have been a scale other than 1/64 because I don't believe I jumped on board to purchase the yellow one.

Yes, that is AWESOME! I had to see the size comparison to believe it was anywhere near 1/64. Do you know who manufactured it? I don't recall anyone doing an Express Ambulance in our favorite scale.

I believe it was a custom order / run through AWESOME Diecast. I've never seen that casting used anywhere else for any other projects. I was talking with Awesome Diecast a couple of years ago on doing customs when the Ford Type III's from Realtoy and Matchbox dried up from CCI, the cost was VERY prohibitive due to a new casting having to be created and a substantial minimum number of units to order.

Too bad really as this would make a great base for many customs.

Now the second MDA Type II "Mobile Intensive Care Unit" casting they've already reused for an American Red Cross Disaster Unit; so obviously, they do reuse the toolings, meaning it might be cheaper in that regard.

It's a shame that there really aren't that many good 1:64 scale ambulance castings; since the demise of Code 3. GL only has the International as a dedicated modern ambulance. In my area, Type II and III the most common--only one large Type I is in use; with about a half dozen ton truck based units. I think Realtoy ditched their Ford in favor of a model based on the Chevy pickup (using a box that snaps over the flareside pickup bed); at least from what I'm seeing in Daron FDNY sets. And Matchbox doesn't do Code 2/3 anymore. I'd love to start seeing their emergency vehicle portfolio in the variety I have seen with the older tools.

I'm wondering if the new Hallmark Type III unit would be a good base for customs? But, at $20, it's a little pricey.
