Thanks for the comments guys – yep, everyone loves VWs!
I wonder what it would be like to still run a daily driver VW bug year round on today’s roads? You still see a few around – we have one in our town that you see chugging around through the scorching hot summers and icy cold winters regardless.
It seems just about every diecast manufacturer, new & old, has at least one VW bug and a bus in their lineup. The garage photos show lovely examples (in various scales) from Matchbox, Greenlight, Cararama and Schuco.
There are so many diecasts in1/64 ( or close to it) of Beetles, buses, vans, pickups, that I think it could support its own web thread here at DG.
It would be a really good way to see from others which beetles we DON'T have.

That reminds me, there was that time several years ago, when I left some sweets on the counter, and then I had a Beetle infestation....
I’ve always been a bit of a sucker for any diecast that comes with extra bits and bobs to play with. Take for example this excellent TLV Toyota Livestock Truck, complete with 3 piggies!
Trouble is, pigs being pigs, they are very intelligent and want to explore the garage.
I mean, fair enough…they probably know more about cars than our head mechanic.
Where are they now?
Oh no! They’re in the showroom! Hope they don’t get poop on the Berlinetta!

How did I miss this? I sure got a laugh out of this one. LMAO. Pigs are smart however they are kind of animal-like when it comes to eating. If not feed they will start to eat on each other. Surly Babe wasn't one of these. Love that European blue truck.
Due to the recent budget cuts,
the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil, plus the
current state of the economy, the light at the end
of the tunnel has been turned off.
