I’m afraid mine has certainly seen a bit of play time as well, but as a wise man once said about well loved vintage die-cast, “Condition only matters if you already have one”.

Here it is motoring with another British classic.

Note if you are searching for one that “Rover P6” is not what it says on the base.

Now, if you are looking to see sone minty fresh Playart Rovers I suggest these links:

      Thanks for posting those, Lane1through75!!

Yep – Playart diecast did have a certain…look...about it that’s for sure!

Your green Rolls Royce is immaculate! I have one too, but it is missing it’s front end. I also have a Volvo and a few other examples. I’ll go see if I can dig them out.

You never saw Rovers with “P6” on the boot lid – I guess that was just the manufacturing name. Like you say it was the Rover 2000, up to 3500 if you had the V8.

Also, thanks for posting that link! Man, Vector03…what can you say. His collection is just insane!

In real life, the Alphas would be a bit smaller as compared to the Rover.

In 1968, as a publicity stunt to draw attention to the toughness of Suzuki's new Fronte, Stirling Moss and Japanese racer Mitsuo Ito drove two SS 360s at high speed across Italy from Milan to Napoli (Naples), with a stop in Rome.

Not bad for a car powered by a 360cc three cylinder motor.

It’s a sad fact, but when the pigs are left without jobs to keep them busy and focused, they become very destructive – both to themselves, and the garage property & vehicles!

              • That is swwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeet!
Due to the recent budget cuts,
the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil, plus the
current state of the economy, the light at the end
of the tunnel has been turned off.

WOW!! Thanks for posting those Lane1through75. They are both in such great condition! Very nice.

Our 164E was a ’71, I believe, though I think we got it in around ‘78/9. The “E” meant it had fuel injection.

It was maroon, had worn leather seats, a leaking sunroof and that massive 3-litre straight 6 that looked like it had come off a tractor. My dad added electronic ignition himself, so it would actually start on a morning.

Just realized that the Playart 164E is a later (post 1973) version with the bigger horizontal tail lights. Ours had the old style smaller, vertical lights.

My old man really liked our Volvo and we had it for many years. It was eventually sold on to a collector.

I can still remember the hefty “CLUNK” of the doors closing when you got in… and that lovely smell of worn leather seats!

I seem to have trouble finding pictures of the proper scale, but I think I'm simply not being creative enough with what I do find. What were your search words? I think I keep using the wrong words.
