Well, I'm glad we cleared that up!
Great comparison shot of the GL and RC Buicks, btw!

    • trotter-cramp. Those Buicks kick some serious butt.
Due to the recent budget cuts,
the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil, plus the
current state of the economy, the light at the end
of the tunnel has been turned off.

Tho' the version you have is from 2000. Did you know there are no fewer that ten HW designs with the word "side" as the first half of their name?

I'm usually fascinated by asymmetrical designs (Go, Schindler!), so naturally I had to have just one.

Bert has seen our 2001 "Postal Express" version, and he still wonders where they would put any mail...

This one looks a lot like the very car that a friend drove in the mid-to-late '70s; black top and all. (Well, this one might be a bit more shiny.) '68

"I maybe figgered it out, kid. It's not for deliverin' anything, it's for goin' POSTAL..."

Well then, we maybe better not let the pigs know about that.

Thanks for the reply and for the link, guy64.

Holy crap! That design has been around since 1972??

But I agree with Bert - where would all the letters and parcels go in the Mail Delivery version?

I think the slide out seat design may have been to give the driver a break from sitting right next to that massive V-16 or whatever it is. Can you imagine the heat, and the noise!

          Thanks Daniel!

Yep, they are all really nice models...apart from that last one in boring pinky-beige & white with the sun visor. Why did I ever buy that?

I think it came in a box of assorted Racing Champions.

The best and the worst of RC in the same photo shoot!

Musta been on sale. I think ours came as a train meet bargain...

Bert can't seem to keep his mind on one brand lately, so we'll "hop around" some... "Wuuurp..hup..." - sound of me throwing up a tiny bit.

So you and Bert own one as well!?

Reminds me of some kinda ugly Christmas tree ornament for some reason.

              • Today at the garage…

A couple of old Ferrari GTO models, from SIKU and Majorette!

I love the massive, fat tires on the Majorette version. Looks like it’s been built for Rallycross racing.

But the SIKU is my favourite. That stance is bang on, even though the orangey red paint is not quite right.

                  Or flotation for amphibious racing.

Majo did that with several of their castings; issuing them with first with appropriately sized tires, then again with these extra wide things that stick out sideways. I have a 1980s Firebird with the same wheels. Looks kinda goofy to me on the (I think) smaller Firebird, and probably to Bert as well once he sees it.

He may even need a new GLARE setting for it.

                      Exactly Lane1through75!!

Toy cars that were designed to be played with!

Even though you can’t really tell from the photos, both these Ferraris have been played with and enjoyed in the past, before they ended up in the hands of this boring old collector!

I’ve got a few of those models with the sticking out tires, but they have all seen some serious racing action.

Stand by Bert…here are some examples:

Hopefully this doesn’t drive Bert’s GLARE setting into overload.

I hear his GLARE settings only go up to 10, whereas these models will surely require an 11?

They fit those Corvettes pretty well, but see how goofy they look on the Firebirds?
