First, we pulled out those front steps – never was really happy with them.

“Hey…didn’t there used to be a showroom here?”

    “Oink?”

A riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside a Yorkshire pudding.

    • That gives a whole new meaning to remodeling and alterations of the existing building. Wouldn't be surprised to see the gang of pigs alerting the rocks that are left.

Well thankyou very much pjedsel...you had to plant the seed, didn't you? You had to put ideas into their little piggy heads...

Actually, this is why the Garage staff are never welcome up at the Showroom, even during renovations.

I'm taking that as a "No."

Well I guess, strictly speaking, this is a portable structure…I can pick it up and move it around the house or carry it outside, and therefore doesn’t actually need planning permission.

This is according to the pigs…

They are all, of course, well versed in all the local zoning bylaws, building codes and standards, including the loopholes.

                “Oink Squeeek!”

[Trans.] “I say…pass the Chardonnay old chap.”

Nope…I missed the turquoise Tooned Up Super Rig when it first came out, so when this green version popped up at our local Superstore, I grabbed it.

Just love the styling on that cab.

The plastic heads that Hot Wheels sometimes use always remind me of Myles Ahead. Or at least, if he had some drastic nose-reduction surgery…and a moustache trim.

Just look at Myles’ bony arse and “gas” tank! I guess that little V8 on his back has been specially modified to run on undiluted fart gas. He must eat beans with every meal.

As a kid, when I first saw FARBS on the pegs in BOOTS department store in the UK in the 70’s, I thought that the limbs were bendy, so you could create your own poses.

                      That would have been awesome!

Only ever bought Myles Ahead and Hot Rodney. Hy Gear and Red CatchUp never really appealed.

Though my original Myles was mauled a few years back - https://www.diecastgarage.org/node/102958

That Flying Bug is another survivor from my childhood.

I always thought the face looked just like Gert Frobe’s character Colonel Manfred von Holstein from the 1965 movie, Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines.

In fact, could it be the same head just with the helmet pulled down? Just a sec… I'm going to lift that helmet up as far as I dare...

Oh my god! It is! MATCHBOX – HOW COULD YOU!!!

After 50 years, your secret is out. Excuse me whilst I take in this shocking revelation…

Far from resembling the muscular DC superhero Shazam (aka Captain Marvel), this figure looks more like a middle aged, British dad in a red jumper, with a bald spot and a double chin who, on a bet, squeezed himself into his kids’ go-kart, and is now stuck.

Due to the recent budget cuts,
the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil, plus the
current state of the economy, the light at the end
of the tunnel has been turned off.

Since that post was made, our next-door neighbors began demolishing a concrete deck in their back yard in preparation for a house addition.

That deck covered their ENTIRE BACK YARD!

Guess what? Jack-hammers are very noisy, especially the big ones mounted on skid-steer tractors.

And then there's the soil tamper. For those who've never seen one, they're about the size of a very large outboard motor. The noise they make is like having a huge military helicopter hovering a few feet over your house. Except the house-shaking noise comes through the ground, not the air.

It's okay, though. Their operating window is only 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

                                Monday though Saturday.

I may be getting used to it.
